The 11th OnArt International Balloon Artists event, sponsored by Qualatex®, took place in Barcelona this weekend. This year, the prestigious, well established event, boasted an even bigger range of talented European and International artists to inspire attendees. With almost 200 delegates from 26 different countries attending, the event once again successfully brought a variety of decorators, retailers and entertainers together to celebrate balloon art.

OnArt offered a variety of classes, catering to all levels of expertise. The programme included deco-twisting classes, business classes and classes for retailers, and balloon artists were also given the chance to participate in a number of competitions from table decoration to balloon hats and column fantasy. Perhaps the highlight of event was the CBA exam, which saw 13 delegates pass their practical 4 hour exam and earn their internationally recognised CBA (Certified Balloon Artist) designation.

“We were thrilled to sponsor this year’s OnArt event and loved seeing the truly incredible décor created as part of the activities,” began Anna Hickman, Education and Export Marketing Manager at Pioneer Europe. “OnArt 2018 was the largest OnArt event yet, hosting almost 200 people. It was fantastic to see many of the industry’s top experts come together to teach different levels of decorators and entertainers, and the feedback from attendees was hugely positive. We’re already looking forward to the next event!”

Claudia Espina, from Coquelicot Ballons, France commented, “What attracted me to OnArt this year was the quality of the instructors that were teaching at the event. I have picked up plenty of new ideas and tips from their classes, which will help me expand my balloon business. What I enjoyed the most was that it was a truly international event, I have met balloon professionals from so many different countries. It is great to network with colleagues from around the world, we can learn a lot from each other!”
