11th September 2018, Buckinghamshire – This summer, The Bucks Freemasons, that meet at Eliot Hall Masonic Centre in Winslow and BMCF (Bucks Masonic Charitable Fund) donated a new First Responders Vehicle to the Winslow community.
The vehicle, which offers 4×4 capability to assist in rural locations and adverse weather conditions was handed over to Steve Acton, Winslow Community First Responder, and Dave Cave, Community engagement training officer (South Central Ambulance Service). The donation was made to replace a first response vehicle that was also purchased through Bucks Freemasons donations in April 2015.

“Buckinghamshire Freemasons and Eliot Hall Masonic Centre have always offered fantastic support of Winslow CFRs and through their continued support in providing funding for this vehicle and equipment, they are helping to provide lifesaving skills and equipment to reach local people who are suffering a medical emergency prior to the arrival of an ambulance. Once again Winslow CFRs would like to thank Buckinghamshire Freemasons for their continued support,” commented Steve Acton, Winslow Community First Responder.

The new response vehicle is bigger than its predecessor, as this vehicle is now equipped with specialist lifting equipment and can be sent to assist casualties who have fallen and require specialist equipment to get them up. It carries the usual lifesaving gear and medical gases and it is hoped to soon have the latest communication equipment installed, for which funds are being raised.
